This is the Young Mind Group!
The Young Mind Group aims to help every young mind live life.
The Young Mind Institute, in the furtherance of this cause, creates products of value
for the young minds to increase themselves for life
in terms of personal development and financial literacy.
We look for different channels to deliver these
as we partner with different entities and individuals in this gargantuan thrust.
In turn, the Young Mind Group gives back the support of the young minds
to other young minds "who are yet to discover their magnificent gifts"
- show them this magnificence within them and teach them increase themselves for life, too.

Let me tell you one story behind the Young Mind Group.
One day, in November 2011, I went to our lowly home in Kibungan.
Even if we just arrived in the morning early that day, we had to be on the road again back to Baguio City for another something we had to do the next day and then go back to Makati.
Before we hopped into the four-hour trip back, we had a simple lunch with my family and some friends. We had a little chatting and laughing as we share the folks' favorite pinikpikan (native version of chicken tinola with a twist) with some slices of sayote (chayote) we casually dip in the sili (chili) on the side.
In the middle of the conversation, a cousin-friend seminarian whispered to me and said, "May I ask for help?"
Even before he continued, I understood. They need some donation to be used for some projects in the seminary and for the yearly souvenir book where the seminarians' visions, seminary programs, community projects and more others are featured. Other than this, they need financial assistance for their food, board and lodging, and everything. Just as a student in an outside university needs finances, so are the ones in the seminary.
I know the challenge. I know their family's economic status. I want to help them. That moment, I wanted to give him some money and say, "Here's one thousand pesos for a start." And I also wanted to do this with the children in the barrios over the mountains.
|
But it pained me because I cannot do it.
I know my economic status. I am just a starting professional and I am earning just enough for my day-to-day living, even to discount the high cost of living in this city. Rent. Transportation. Meals three times a day. Seldom snacks at random times. And all that. |
I am earning just enough and even can't send home cash for a tiny support to my mom. You see, I can't even date the girl of my dreams! (I'm just kidding but that's true.)
Again, I wanted to help and it pained me. How can I help others if I cannot even give something for my mom, my family?
The next day, I was seated in the bus bound to Manila. In a moment, my long lost big dreams came back to me. I used to have big dreams and great plans - and these appeared in front of me.
They kicked me right on the face, shouting:
"Start doing your thing!"
"Go for your dreams. Accomplish your goals."
"Expand your means so you can help yourself and help others."

Yes, that's the PURPOSE - help others.
Bro. Bo Sanchez, my spiritual and wealth mentor, preaches:
"The ultimate purpose of wealth is to love others."
He is right!
